The sun rose bright and early, casting its golden rays across the sprawling fields of Taylor Farm. Mama was up to with her chores, feeding the chickens and milking the cows. The aroma of fresh-baked pancakes wafted from the kitchen window, rousing me from sleep. After a hearty breakfast, I joined Papa in the fields to help with the planting. It was hard work, but the warmth felt good on my face.
We took a break for lunch under the shade of a large oak tree, sharing stories and laughter. Afternoons at Taylor Farm are always filled with adventure. One day we might be fishing. The next, we could be helping Mama in the garden. As evening approached, we gathered around the campfire, Taylor Farm sharing spooky stories under the twinkling stars.
